About The Event
Gita Kali lives every breath of her life in Yoga. She chooses to live her life in LOVE over fear. Whether dancing in a store, every day decisions, being a mom, whitewater rafting, gardening barefoot, foraging edibles, or teaching, she chooses LOVE. Her path of yoga has brought her to this joyful place all the way from a car accident in 1995 to Lyme Disease in 2001 and now teaching yoga nearly 20 years and chanting Kirtan for 12. She has worked with a wide variety of students from children with special needs, to professional athletes and anyone wanting more peace, love, connection to the Divine, and balance in their life. She has studied with Swamis in India and the US and currently lives in an Satchidananda Ashram Yogaville serving as a Pujari (Hindu Priest) and caretaker for the Shiva Nataraja temple. Gita has run her own studio, created the DC Kirtan Festival, continues to raise money for girls rescued from sex trafficking in India and embodies the teachings of Yoga wherever she goes and in all she does. She truly lives and teaches from her heart.
Through Sanskrit I have helped many find their voice. I found mine. My singing and devotion blossomed overnight after learning more about Sanskrit through a similar class by Pierre Couvillion and has continued to develop in ways I had never imagined. I have heard time and time again the same story from others who have come to this workshop!
We will learn about: - Begin to learn about the power of mantra and vibration - How to reach deep to create these beautiful sound vibrations authentically from and through you! - Learn to chant the Sanskrit Alphabet using the 5 different mouth positions. (or practice it again, I have taken this workshop about 10 times!) - Find your voice. Chant from somewhere deeper within.
