Turtle Medicine: Carrying Home With Us
Today I moved my youngest into his freshman college dorm. I’m thinking about the word bittersweet. What a beautiful word that is. This seemingly oppositional set of qualities: bitter and sweet, held together in a single word. I might add a few more words to it, making it a conglomeration of tastes in the mouth. A multisyllabic mess of sensation. Perhaps that would be more appropriate. But for now, I’ll land here. Bittersweet. This morning, before driving off with the family f

The Things We Carry
Every single corner of the room holds deep, precious memories. Loving memories.Tender memories. Every sock, every tissue, every stuffed animal, every rock, every feather, every random piece of Lego holds the energy of a specific moment in time and place. Every speck of dust. Every worn-out cushion. Every bent fork. No wonder our house has become a pile of “stuff.” To the outsider, clutter perhaps. But to the insider… Memories. I get why people take pictures, make photo books,

Lessons from the heat. and no AC.
We've been without air conditioning for over a week. The day we came back from a lovely 10-day vacation at the beach, on the water, we came home to a house that was literally sweltering. Right during a heatwave when temps were well in the 90s with the heat index pushing into the low 100s, our AC went out. Fun! Add in the fact our house is mostly only windows with no shades/blinds and direct sun all day, and you've got, yep, a recipe for cooking humans, I think! So what does a

Notes from the other Side (of "social" media)
I am starting week 4 of having all social media apps deleted off my phone. To be clear, I didn't delete my accounts, and I can still hop on to post occasionally for my business (sometimes an employer asks me to) using the web portal. This feels incredibly time-consuming, cumbersome, and s-l-o-w. But that's the point. The ease of the connection and the downside of the immediacy, are what I am exploring. We tend to equate speed with efficiency and judge what's easier as better.

Fog lifting. A gradual steady clearing. Feel it floating off the head. Notice it steaming off the body. Imagine it dissipating all that is heavy. Send a line into the earth. A frequency of rooting. And minimize distractions. buzzing. electronics. all things artificial. Spend these days remembering your Nature. Spend these nights dreaming your Future. And Breathe.

Un-blogger
The UNblog I’m unblogging, unclogging, undoing The constructs that hold, that contain, the claim, that entrain To find Your voice. Yours. Mine? Beyond the sound itself. Or maybe just the sound itself…. Is to unravel years, decades, lifetimes Of conditioning Not enough. Too much. More of this. Less of that. Trainings that bind you. Advice that derails you. Systems of self understanding that undermine you. Been there. Done that. Over and over and over and over again.

We are here for the New- but first, the old.
Happy New Year and Welcome to 2026!!? Yeah, I know. It's packed a punch already. But please don't be dismayed. This is the 'old', the past, the hidden re-emerging from the depths. Here we learn to float rather than sink. So what does that look like for you? Less tension, more ease. Less gripping, more surrender. Less control, more trust. Shifting into this quality of energy will assist in shifting what remains to be cleared from our individual fields. Remember, Feb
