Happy Monday!

The weekends seem to be flying by this Fall almost in a whirlwind like the spiraling leaves picked up by a sudden gust of wind. Just when you think things are settling, whoosh, another gust! Notice how the leaves respond when shifted by the wind. Can you be like that leaf? Without judgement? Riding the wind, knowing that soon you will set back down again? All of this makes navigating Monday’s a bit tricky. The desire to stay home and rest with some much needed down time, is strong but may not be possible. If it is possible, go for it! If not, relax anyway☺️. Try to embody the spirit of rest no matter where you are or what you are doing. And then make a conscious “time out-in” date for yourself sometime this week. Looking ahead at your calendar, where can you sneak in some “time off”? Nourishing your body with some rejuvenation and relaxation during the week, you will find that the weekends suddenly seem to slow down or open up. Enjoy it!

Word of the day: Nourish

Yoga pose of the day: child’s pose. Balasana.

Mantra of the day: SRIM (pronounced Shreem)

Srim is probably the most benefic of all sounds, drawing us to all that is good, helpful and promoting of positive growth and development. More specifically it is the seed mantra of Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity and abundance, and the consort of Lord Vishnu.

Sri means splendour in Sanskrit, like the beautiful light of the moon. Srim is often used along with Hrim. As Hrim is solar, Srim is lunar.

Srim is the mantra of faith, devotion, refuge and surrender. Srim relates to the heart in its feeling aspect (while Hrim relates to the pranic or functional aspect).

Srim improves overall health, happiness, fertility, love and calmness of mind, improves, lustre, glow and light. Particularly important for women’s health and brings proper function and circulation to the female reproductive system.

Srim has a soothing effect on the mind and emotions, allowing us to surrender to Divine grace and take refuge in the higher powers.
